About Us

We are a food and hygiene bank charity based in Thurrock that helps to freely provide relief to families and individuals who are in need. Every person who walks into our food bank will receive a care parcel that is equivalent to 5 days worth of food and essential supplies, but not only that, they also receive practical support, encouragement, and hope. These values are central to the Christian message which is the Gospel that brings light and love into the world, and as such is to the central mission of Necessities UK. We are working to break the cycle of poverty in our communities by identifying and challenging those systems, policies and practices that exacerbate poverty through reform and by taking practical steps by not attaching quotas or means criteria to receive relief. We work as an inclusive charity whose hands are open to all, irrespective of gender, nationality or creed - and genuinely believe nobody should be left behind.

Mission

Necessities UK exists to provide relief to families and individuals in our own communities who are dealing with the systematic failures of local, national and global economic and social policies. Our mission is to provide essential 5-day supplies to those in need, without any form of quotas, offering practical support and sustained hope to break the cycle of poverty and inequality and inspire real change in the lives of those fighting against all forms of discrimination regardless of their faith or nationality, excluding nobody. We are doing this because the poverty gap is increasing while global uncertainty continues to grow compounded by the economic and social impact of an increasing number of global emergencies. With the generosity of our partners and volunteers and with the strong convictions of our Christian Faith we pray in solidarity for a more caring and equal world as we all listen with our hearts and support advocacy for true reform.

Good N.E.W.S - To share the Good News of Jesus Christ North, East, West and South of the World.

Support active political campaigns for true change to break poverty and inequality cycles.

Give back through projects while impacting lives through community investment or any causes that will improve an individual or group’s life.
