IX

the nine thousand value.

Our logo is an important image and representation of the charity. The true story is that God actually chose our logo. He said make it Bread and Fish. At first I was not keen on the idea of Bread and Fish being the Logo but every time I look at it now it brings me so much joy and reminds of the two events in the Bible where Jesus met the needs of the people that were bold enough to share what they had with Him for Him to multiply it in their hands.

The two groups of people were the Jewish and Gentile families in Matthew 13 and Mark 8. Many people actually mistake these stories as the same as the Gospel often re tells the same event. But it is true they are separate events. The two chapters show the inclusion and unity of all groups as it is in Heaven. It also show us the free grace of God and godly provision to the gathered multitude. This specific principle ties in so greatly to the work we do in the charity, we are here for all and ready to provide for all who come us.

IX is 9000 in roman numeral but it is also also to related to the Ichthus (ΙΧΘΥΣ)

And the I X also means Jesus Christ.

Although we know the Ichthus is unrelated to the feeding of the multitude, we are always fascinated to see how Jesus appears in everything!

Jesus Feeds Four Thousand

Mark Chapter 8 1-10 (NLT)

1 About this time another large crowd had gathered, and the people ran out of food again. Jesus called his disciples and told them, “I feel sorry for these people. They have been here with me for three days, and they have nothing left to eat. If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a long distance.”

His disciples replied, “How are we supposed to find enough food to feed them out here in the wilderness?”

Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?”

“Seven loaves,” they replied.

So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces. He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd. A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these and told the disciples to distribute them.

They ate as much as they wanted. Afterward, the disciples picked up seven large baskets of leftover food. There were about 4,000 men in the crowd that day, and Jesus sent them home after they had eaten. 10 Immediately after this, he got into a boat with his disciples and crossed over to the region of Dalmanutha.

Jesus Feeds Five Thousand

Matthew Chapter 14: 13-21

13 As soon as Jesus heard the news, he left in a boat to a remote area to be alone. But the crowds heard where he was headed and followed on foot from many towns. 14 Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

15 That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”

16 But Jesus said, “That isn’t necessary—you feed them.”

17 “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish!” they answered.

18 “Bring them here,” he said. 19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people. 20 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. 21 About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!
